John Armitage Rusca, M.D.

The Spa is under the medical direction of Dr. John Armitage Rusca, developer of The Spa at The Institute and one of the preeminent Plastic Surgeons of Atlanta and the Southeast. For more than 30 years Dr. Rusca has been practicing the Art of Plastic Surgery and his abilities in the area of Aesthetic Surgery have earned him the reputation as Atlanta's most artistic Plastic Surgeon, able to create and restore without the look of surgery. He enjoys a reputation world-wide and regularly counts among his patients people who travel to see him from all over the USA and North America, Europe, the Middle East, South and Central America, and, Asia.

The Spa developed as a natural extension of Dr. Rusca's surgical work. It was here that preparation of the skin for surgery and then maintenance of the surgical result was evolved into isolated treatments for skin conditions and finally for skin restoration. With the newest in chemistry and nano technology engineering, the current skin protocols are able to revive the aging skin without the use of damaging LASERs, Microdermabrasion, invasive radio waves, IPL or other passe treatments of that nature popular only a few years ago. Uneven pigmentation, superficial wrinkles, skin breakouts, acne, blackheads, whiteheads, milia and a multitude of other adverse skin conditions are treated and corrected at The Spa by a combination of in-Spa and at-home programs that are very effective and will save the patient, on average, 70-80% of the cost for LASER, IPL, FRACEL or similar treatment modalities.

All Spa clients requiring prescriptive medications receive a complimentary consultation with Dr. Rusca.

Spa Director

Yorleny

With 12 years experience at The Spa, Yorleny oversees the day-to-day operation of The Spa at The Institute. Her knowledge of skin products, their ingredients and use has been of invaluable assistance in the development of the protocols for skin care and particularly the non-invasive restorative skin care programs which The Spa currently utilizes. Yorleny regularly surveys the cosmeceutical industry for new products and new product usage, then orchestrates the staff for educational seminars and experimental application of new industry ideas. Yorleny also coordinates monthly events for our clients and patients to learn about The Spa and our treatments. She is your source for information about all things in The Spa.

Aestheticians & Massage Therapists

The Spa currently employs 2 Medical Aestheticians and 2 Massage therapists who are available by appointment during Spa hours. Others are available on an as-need basis. All of our employees are fully trained in the protocols and procedures offered at The Spa at The Institute and have many years of experience in their respective fields. Our Medical Aestheticians are experienced experts in the use of peels, skin stimulants, skin bleaching and other procedures not found in the routine day spa. Our Massage Therapists are experienced masseurs and masseuses with backgrounds in multiple massage disciplines. They have been personally trained in the correct application of Postsurgical Lymphatic Massage Drainage by our Medical Director, Dr. Rusca.

Consultants

The Spa has available multiple consultants in the fields of hair styling, hair colorists, wardrobe development, personal fitness training, Antiaging Medicine and most other disciplines directly or indirectly related to skin care, beauty and just plain looking good.
